Privacy notice

This notice explains what information Chuffed collects when you use chuffedapp.co.uk, why, and the choices you have. We've kept it short and plain. If anything's unclear, email us at hello@chuffedapp.co.uk.

Who we are

Chuffed is a product of Ombak Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16791574), with its registered office at 105 Barton Hill Road, Torquay, England, TQ2 8JA. We're the "data controller" for the information described here, registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under number [ICO registration number].

What we collect, and why

• Waitlist sign-ups. Your email address and the date you joined, so we can tell you when Chuffed launches and send occasional updates about it. We rely on your consent, and every email has an unsubscribe link.
• The savings check on our homepage. It runs entirely in your browser. What you tick isn't sent to us or stored.
• Emails you send us. Messages to hello@chuffedapp.co.uk and your contact details, so we can reply. Our basis is our legitimate interest in answering you.
• Website logs. Like every website, our hosting provider records technical details such as your IP address, browser and the pages requested. These are kept briefly, to keep the site secure and working (legitimate interests).
• Analytics, only if you agree. If you choose "Allow analytics", we use PostHog to understand how people use the site: pages visited, clicks, device and browser type, and rough location. It stays off unless you say yes (consent).

We don't connect to bank accounts, and we don't ask for bank details at this stage. When we launch the quiz and statement upload, we'll update this notice before they go live, explaining exactly what's collected and how long it's kept.

What we never do

• Sell your personal information.
• Use advertising trackers or share your data with advertisers.
• Send you marketing you haven't asked for.

Who helps us run Chuffed

We use a small number of trusted providers who process data only on our instructions:

• Supabase: our database, where waitlist sign-ups are stored, hosted in London.
• Vercel: hosts the website.
• Cloudflare: manages our domain and forwards emails sent to hello@chuffedapp.co.uk.
• Google: the inbox those emails arrive in.
• PostHog: analytics, only if you've agreed.

Some of these companies are based outside the UK and may access data from abroad. Where that happens, we rely on protections recognised under UK law, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement.

Links to banks and other providers

When you follow a link from Chuffed to a bank or provider, you leave our site and their privacy policy applies. Chuffed may earn a commission if you open an account through us; this never changes how we rank your matches.

How long we keep it

• Waitlist emails: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. If Chuffed doesn't launch, we'll delete the list.
• Emails you send us: as long as needed to deal with your message.
• Analytics: no longer than 12 months.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• get a copy of the information we hold about you
• have it corrected if it's wrong
• have it deleted
• object to, or ask us to limit, how we use it
• receive it in a portable format
• withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting anything we did before

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Children

Chuffed is for adults. It isn't intended for anyone under 18.

Changes to this notice

We'll update this page when anything changes, and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we'll tell people on our waitlist by email.
